Is the Avaine potassium sparing like Yasmin?

Is the Avaine potassium sparing like Yasmin? I know on Yasmin I had to be careful about potassium supplementation. Is this something to be concerned about?

Welcome to ehealthforum,
Yaz birth control affects potassium levels more than other pills do as the form of progestin used in Yaz is different (synthetic progestin called drospirenone) which can significantly increase potassium levels. Combination birth control pills containing synthetic progestin can affect potassium levels in general. Synthetic progestins include: Desogestrel, Ethynodiol Diacetate, Levonorgestrel, Norethindrone, Norethindrone Acetate, Norgestimate, Norgestrel, and Drospirenone. Aviane contains low dose of estrogen and a synthetic progestin. It can also affect the potassium levels. You will need to be careful while taking it. For further details and discussion consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist.
Take care.
