So I was just diagnosed with mono today. I had a few questions. The only big symptom I have had is being very fatigued and having severe headaches. I have been kissing my boyfriend before I knew I had mono. I just want to know if he is going to get mono. Also how long should I wait until I can kiss him again?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. Mono resolves in a couple of weeks so at least a month before you kiss again and yes if you kissed, your boyfriend may get it too. Good news is, mono is easily treatable and self resolving. All you gotta do is rest.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
