Welcome back to ehealthforum,
If your normal menstrual period duration is 3 or more than 3 days, then sudden shorter periods are not normal. The causes could be anemia, pregnancy, hormonal derangements, presence of cysts etc. You should consider visiting your gynecologist for further evaluation to look for underlying cause and resolve it.
