Shops that sell items for smoking typically dont sell them with use intended for marijuana. So if they have a bong for sale, its not actually a bong, its a tobacco water pipe. If they are selling a vaporizer, it probably isnt a marijuana vaporizer. Vaporizers can not only vape weed but also tobacco and herbs. You can put any plant many plants in there, obviously safe plants. So lets say that the vaporizer itself is not illegal but the weed you use it for might be. To the point.
"Under the Federal Drug Paraphernalia Statute, which is part of the Controlled Substances Act, it is illegal to possess, sell, transport, import, or export drug paraphernalia as defined. The law gives specific guidance on determining what constitutes drug paraphernalia."
They are not advertised as marijuana vaporizers because of this. If you are caught with one and the police suspect you are using it for illegal substances then they will probably take it.
So yes it is illegal to sell a "Cannabis Vaporizer, Weed Vaporizer and Marijuana Vaporizer" but not a vaporizer.
