intrauterine insemination procedure two weeks ago

User Profile
My daughter had an intrauterine insemination procedure two weeks ago. Her husbands sperm count is very high. She had two folicles both 17 in one ovary and they couldn't see the other ovary because the intestine was blocking their vision of it. About three days ago she had just a very small amount of light pink spotting. Now two weeks after the iui she had a very small amount of light pink/orange spotting and cramping (she said like period cramps). The spotting and cramps have now stopped. Her period is not due for three more days. Are these signs that the IUI worked and the spotting could be implantation bleeding? I was just wondering if anyone had any comments on the symptoms she is having?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Yes, spotting can be implantation bleeding, or it could be due to infection or hormonal imbalance. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your daughter’s gynecologist regarding this. Your daughter can take a beta HCG test if she does not get her periods on the due date. Hope this helps. Take care!
