infertility and implanon?

I have read a couple of horrible stories about infetility if you dont remove the implanon immediately. I havent had the money or the insurance to have my removed in november and i just now can afford it. Does this mean im inferile now? PLease reply as soon as possible I am really worried.

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out. The Implanon implant must be removed by the end of the third year after it was inserted. Since you did not get it removed, do not worry as it is not going to cause any infertility.

Within a few days of having Implanon removed the hormones released by Implanon will have left the body. The chances of becoming pregnant after Implanon removal are the same as that were before you started using Implanon.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
