increased risk from low amount of probiotics in my body?

User Profile
I am going to Nicaragua in 5 days. I was just diagnosed with tonsillitis yesterday and was prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days. I will be taking this antibiotic for 4 days while in Nicaragua. Should I have any concerns about an increased risk in contracting a disease due to the possible low amount of probiotics in my body?

Welcome to e health forum.

Amoxicillin is a very common antibiotic and it is unlikely to cause serious changes or side effects , unless you are allergic to it.

You need not worry about contracting any other diseases due to slight depletion of probiotic bacteria in your intestines.
