Immune To Antibiotics For Urinary Track Infections...

I had a hysterectomy in march 2009 and if i could take it back i sure would!!! I had a total laparscopic hysterectomy and the doctor "nicked" my uterer tube.. The urologist was called in to repair the damage he had to cut a piece of my tube out and attach it to the top of my bladder.. so i come home with a catheter for about a week.. well a week after the cath was out i started leaking, each day got worse and worse until i had to wear depends..the doc who did my surgery had also "nicked" my bladder in the process.. i had a total of 4 surgeries including the hyst. i wore a cath for about a total of 5 months.. had a uti the whole time.. but i thank god that i am leak free!!! i had a wonderful uro.. who was supportive and encourging the whoe way! But i still have some issues.. i keep uti's.. i have been sooo many antibiotics i quit counting and have grown immune to many of them... i am on one at the moment that i have to take every night before bed so it can set in my bladder so the bacteria wont grow... is anyone else having these problems?? and if so what can i do to help keep the uti's away??

These are a few tips in fighting UTI's...

From what I have read AZO Cranberry tablets do work...You can get these from the drugstore...These must be modified per the instructions...

Cranberry juice works the same way, however, you have to drink quite a bit to make this effective...Get real cranberry juice and not Cranberry Cocktail...Look carefully at the label as they do sell it...

Drink 8 glasses of water per day...

Cotton underwear is also a help....Don't wear anything at night to let this area breathe...

Empty your bladder both before and after sex...This way any germs will not be pushed up your Urethra....

Always wipe yourself from front to back after a Bowel Movement,,.This can and does cause many problems...The BM is filled with germs which again could very easily fight its way into the vaginal opening and Urethra...

One more thing and this is my own thought, be careful of not having too much hot foreplay around the Urethra...This area can get very sore...I mean I know how hot that this can get, but cool it when it starts to hurt and get sore..This is the area where the UTI usually starts...

When and if UTI occurs, call your doctor...I think you will know it, as the pain can be real bad....I hope this helps...Take care...
