If I do get my period is it possible I am pregnant?

User Profile
I had unprotected sex not very long before my expected period date. I don't know whether or not my cycle is regular, but I don't think that it is. He did not ejaculate in me at all. If I do get my period is it possible that I am still pregnant or should I assume that I am not?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

If your partner did not ejaculate in you chances of pregnancy are almost nil. Also there is less chance of pregnancy if you had intercourse close to your period date. However, if you miss your periods by more than a week take a pregnancy test and see. If your periods are irregular, then you will keep facing such dilemmas, and it is best to adopt a contraceptive method. Please consult your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
