I was bitten by a dog, Do I have rabies?

I was 5 or 6 when I was bitten by a dog in my right leg. I am now 14. I was not taken to a medical doctor, instead to a traditional healer. The would healed. The dog that bit me didn't show any symptoms. Three months after the bite, the dog was sold, in that three months, the dog is still active. It was not shot with rabies vaccine before I was bitten. Do I have rabies?

Hi mordecai i'm not a doctor but i am an animal care assistant, i'v worked in pet shops vets with several kinds of aniamls sick and well. Let me just say if you had been bitten by a dog with rabies, you wouldnt have lived until this age. Rabies affects the brain which is why so many animals and people die from it. You are fine but next time you ahve a run in with a dog bite please go to a doctor as rabies can kill and so can a lot of other zoonotic illnesses from animals.
