User Profile
Okay, so i've heard that sperm can live in a girl for up to 10 days? Is that true?? And i also heard that a girl can only get pregnant when she ovulates? Is that true also?? Because i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 3 days before i was ovulating. So does that mean i could be pregnant??

Sperm can live inside a woman for up to 7 days. A woman can get pregnant at any time during her cycle but the chances are higher a few days before ovulation and 24 hours after ovulation. Once an egg has been released it only survives for 12 - 24 hours after unless it has been fertilised.

It's possible that you could get pregnant. Wait for your next period in a couple of weeks and if you do not get your period 7 days after you expect it then take a pregnancy test,if negative, repeat the test 7 days after taking the first to confirm the results or confirm a pregnancy.

If you are planning on having sex, then you should go to your OB/GYN or doctor and get yourself on birth control if you are not pregnant so that you avoid getting in similar situations until you are older and ready for children.
