Getting Pregnant Answer A29470
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The hymen has passages in it that allow for menstrual blood to pass through. Sperms can pass through these to result in pregnancy. Sperms can stay alive for 20-30 minutes in dry condition. The fingering can result in pregnancy if semen has been present on the fingers. If you were during your period time/menstrual bleeding, chances of pregnancy resulting are less (as the chances of egg being present are less). Avoid unprotected sexual contact after finishing your periods as you get closer to your fertile days/ovulation time.
If you are not ready for pregnancy, but intend to remain sexually active, you should consider visiting your gynecologist to get started on suitable regular birth control measures to be protected (after your periods) as well as regulate your periods. Be regular with birth control use as instructed. Avoid having unprotected sexual contact.
Take care.
