I’ve been given the option of Jaw Surgery

Orthodontist has given me the option to have my lower jaw moved back a few mm (jaw correction surgery I think) and I’m not sure whether or not to take it (it’s free). My main concern is the fact I have large gaps between my teeth due to some being missing thanks to genetics. This problem can be sorted. I’ve also been told I can have the surgery to straighten the jaw but I’m not sure what to think. Advice?

I’ve never really noticed a major problem with my lower jaw either, the orthodontist keeps suggesting the surgery so he’s made me a little paranoid now.
