I thought this was jet lag but it's been 3 weeks...

User Profile
Hi :)
I have a few questions/symptoms and would love some answers.
Recently I have moved overseas, almost 3 weeks ago.
My husband and I had unprotected sex 2.5 weeks ago, 5 days before ovulation.
Normally I would think this was safe, and we never have unprotected sex usually.
A few days ago I got my period again. It's very light and has been going for 3 days now. I'm not sure why this is happening as I've always been perfectly regular. I went off the pill 2 months ago approx, and have been pretty stressed because of the move, but usually my period stops when I'm stressed, not the other way around.
I've also been super tired. Obviously I thought this was jet lag but it's been 3 weeks and is still hanging on

Anyway just looking for some answers. If its just an irregular period caused by stress then I'll live, but if there's a chance I could be pregnant I'd really like some advice!

Please help

Menstruation Answer A33956
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Chances of pregnancy are possible if you are not on any form of regular birth control measures. If fertile mucus had been present at time of sexual contact, then sperms can stay alive for 3-5 days, and able to fertilize the egg when ovulation occurs. If the light bleeding occurred within 6-10 days of ovulation, it could indicate probable implantation. Wait and watch for your periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.
