I need help with my baby girls name!

I have a question. I am IN LOVE with the name Dylan for a girl. i know that it is typically a boys name, but there are a handful of girls who do carry that name and LOVE it. So, it is my decision. Now... with that in mind.... I need a good middle name. I have fallen in love with a certain middle name to go with it that is again, a boys name... and I don't really like that. I don't want my little girl to have both names be typically boys name. I wanted Dylan Anthony... which as crazy as it sounds.. I like for a girl, and I would HATE It on a boy. I think it is a good name for a girl, I would be PROUD to have that name. But.. i need some advice, and PLEASE don't turn this into 'I can't believe your naming your girl Dylan, that's horrible...blah, blah blah' i don't want that. So, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!!!
Thank you.

Dylan is a great choice for a girl. It sits on that line between being a girls name and a boys name! However, Anthony definitely sits on the 'boys name' side of the line and makes the whole name together quite masculine. Have you thought about Dylan Annette or Dylan Antonia, or other derivations of the name Anthony?

I love the name Dylan for a girl as well, so much so that is what my 15 year old daughters name is. We picked a family name (one of my grandmothers) for her middle name, Christine. I was very conscious of finding a feminine middle name so that her full name had a 'girly' sort of feel. My husbands cousin gave their daughter a male middle name with a feminine first name. I like the mixture because I think it softens a usual boy name while allowing for a less traditional girls name. In the end though, it's what you like that matters.

I love the name Dylan for a girl!!! So awesome! But I am not sure Anthony would fit.People would think it's very strange for a girl to have both boy names. Maybe consider Dylan Toni-Ann? There really isn't a female version of Anthony. Though a coworker loved that name and was going to name her child Anthony. When she was born she changed it from Anthony to Toni-Ann.

Good Luck with your search!

I love Dylan for a girl! I agree that two traditionally boy names would be a bit rough, though. Save Anthony for a son if you ever have one, or take the earlier suggestion of Antonia or Toni-Ann.

I personally believe middle names from family names are always good fits. For instance I don't like the name "Marie" on its own very much, but it's my mother's name, and using it as a middle name (Emmaline Marie) sounds perfect to me. My mom is flattered, of course. I'm lucky "Marie" pretty much goes with anything, though!
