Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

Excessive amount or duration of menstrual flow, at more or less regular intervals is called menorrhagia. There are many causes of menorrhagia like Hypothyroidism, Endometrial proliferation or hyperplasia like ovarian tumor and polycystic ovarian disease, endometrial polyps and neoplasia, endometriosis, fibroids and uterine sarcomas but at your age, it looks like hormonal changes occurring in the body at this time.

If the spotting persists or changes to frank bleeding then get an evaluation done from a gynecologist.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
