I have been on the pill for 8 months and are planning to become.

I have been on the pill for about 8 months I was using Trinnesa for 6 months and I am currently taking Tri-Previfem.. I am planning to become pregnant but I have heard rumors that if you have been on birth control for a while it will be much harder to become pregnant. Is this a fact? and if so how much time before should I stop using birth control?

S831, It can take a few cycles (2 or 3) for your cycle to become normal again after the pill. 14 months are however not very long. Many woman (even those not using the pill) find it difficult to become pregnant. The average time to become pregnant is around 3 months so do not stress about the pill's effects.

You can become pregnant if you skip a pill for 2 days (and some unfortunate women does) so it depends on a lot of other things as well. Each woman's body is different.

Best of luck TTC!
