I have an addiction of chewing wires. Do I have to stop?

Hello. I have a strange addiction of chewing on cable wires, especially mouse wires and headset wires. I'm 12 years old, and I turned 12 11 days ago, on 8/11/2016. Do I need to stop chewing on it? Will it do damage to my teeth or health? I also have an addiction of eating my finger skin and nail biting if that's related to the addiction.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. You need psychotherapy sessions, rehab and practice to cope up with this addiction rather obsession. Dont worry its manageable.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
