i had only been taking the pill for 2 days!

User Profile
The last time i had intercourse was 24th January 2011 and i didnt use a condom. Tho i was on the pill at the time, im not sure if it was ineffective because i had only been taking the pill for 2 days after bout a months break from it

Despite my worry, i continued to take my pill for a week after sex but stopped on 31st January because i wanted to see if my period would come, and i came on, on 4th February and it seemed heavyish and normal which put mind at ease

But i started getting worried about it again so took a pregnancy test on 5th March which is the day after i was due on my period. And it came back as negative

But despite being due on my period on 4th march, its now the 14th and im only just starting to show signs of a period. But im usually fairly heavy and im only getting a small amount of brown discharge downstairs which is weird for me. Could this be spotting and mean im pregnant?

Also my tum hurts when i lay down and put pressure on it

Am i just paranoid or pregnant?

Hello and welcome to eHealth forum!

In all probability the delay with brown discharge is due to irregular contraceptive use and due to contraceptive withdrawal. Take a blood pregnancy test as this is more reliable. If this is negative, then consult your gynecologist and adopt some contraceptive measure to overcome this monthly fear of pregnancy. Hope this helps. Take care!
