I feel so overwhelmed and sad I cant explain it to myself.

User Profile
I am young and attractive and social. My life is good. But I have been depressed alot. Lately it has begun to worry me. Since the last week, I have experienced a weird thing. When I laugh really hard suddenly I begin to cry and I feel so overwhelmed and sad I cant explain it to myself. I partly suspect it to be this relationship I am in, I and my boyfriend fight often and it has started to psychologically effect my hold on reality. My family is not that emotionally supportive I feel detached from all these blood relationships. It has never been an issue as I never lived with my parents much. Throughout my life I have had suicidal tendencies but right when I feel like I have nobody, I dont have the courage. I dont know what difference it would make to the world. I dont know the term for this type of depression I experience. I also have a superiority complex. And though alot of people approach me I look down on them and feel lonely.how do I deal with this? This has begun to affect me alot

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum. From the description of your symptoms, it seems likely that you’re suffering from depression. For the same, I’ll suggest you to consult a psychiatrist & maybe a clinical psychologist also as you may require rounds of psychological counseling and may be drugs to overcome the depressive illness you seem to be going through. Meanwhile, I’ll also suggest reading some inspirational books as I have seen a lot of my patients benefiting from them. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
