I am unsure if i should be planning for a baby.

User Profile
I am about 5 days late for my period. I took a home test two days ago and it came back negative. I still havent had my period. My breast were very tender but it has lightened up again though still no period. Ive been with my husband for 1 year. We sometimes use a condom and then sometimes dont. I am unsure if i should be planning for a baby or if im just over thinking it all. Please give me some advice on what to do. And if my chances of being pregnant are higher than not.

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Since you had unprotected sexual contact so possibility of pregnancy is high. Also the symptoms described by you as missed period, breast tenderness are indicative of that.Urine test can take 10 to 12 days or more after a missed period to give accurate results as they detect only a ceratin amount of hormonal level.

You can consider doing a Blood hcg test for pregnancy determination as it would give accurate result by now.Regarding the pregnancy it is entirely your decision and no one can comment on this. But it is a very big responsibility so take the decision accordingly.Kindly visit a Gynaecologist for evaluation.

Take Care!
