I am a female living with hpv (genital warts). I'm worried about what I'm reading in regards to kissing and transmitting the virus. I've been kissing a new partner on the mouth, and although we have refrained from oral sex, I have kissed his testicles. He has also preformed manual stimulation on me. What are the chances of him becoming infected?

Hello, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

You cannot get genital warts from kissing. However, if there was skin to skin touch with the warts then yes, it is possible to transmit the STD. It is best to use condoms for both oral and vaginal sex. Please visit a STD clinic and discuss with them all your apprehensions and how to practice safe sex, and whether antiviral therapy will help or not. Hope this helps. Take care!
