How will medroxyprogesterone start my cycle?

My last depo shot was in january and I haven't had a period since i started it. My doctor perscribed me medroxyprogesterone pills to start my period, since depo is basically a shot of medroxyprogestrerone how will more of it (the pills) help me start my period? Anyone else used the pills the start their cycle again after depo?

It will allow the blood levels of the hormone to rise. When you stop it will drop again and hopefully cause withdrawal bleeding that will cause your cycle to start. If this fails, your doctor will likely try an ovulation inducer next.

The manufacturer's figures are that the depo shot will only be out of your body after 9 months. Many women report a longer time of infertility (12 to 18 months after stopping).

Best of luck!
