Statins is a group of drugs that lowers the blood cholesterol levels,one of the criteria for their prescription is that when the LDL level of a person is above 4.9mmol/lit,he/she should take statins to lower the cholesterol levels.
As yours is not so high at the moment,you're otherwise healthy with no chronic conditions like diabetes or hypertension,you can reduce your cholesterol levels to normal or ideal values with both diet and exercise.
Your diet should contain more plant based foods and you should exercise for atleast 1 hour daily.
