How long should you on a rowing machine?

If you're doing regular physical exercise as well as if you have much more idea about rowing machine, then that's question for you. Actually most of the beginners can't exercise properly with the rowing machine, as a result couldn't any benefits from here. That's why I ask this question, first of all how long should you on a rowing machine. If you have time, please tell me details. Thanks.
