I am 3 days late for my period. I have been having hot flushes, cramps, headaches, feel bloated and tired, breats are a bit tender to touch and had some clear/white discharge. I ovulated on day 16 (positive ovulation test) of my cycle and had un protected sex on days 10 and 25. I took a home pregnancy test today and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant? I have been off my pill since February 2010 and always had a 28 day cycle.

Welcome to ehealthforum,
Urine pregnancy test kits are calibrated ones, so unless the hormone levels in urine reach a certain level, they do not show positive results. They can also show false negative results. Blood/serum HCG level estimation is accurate. Your symptoms (cramps, hot flashes, bloating, tiredness, tender breasts, increased vaginal discharge) could be suggestive of pregnancy. Having intercourse closer to your ovulation time would result in pregnancy. If you do not get your periods within 10 days of expected period dates, visit your doctor/gynecologist for further examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately).
Take care.
