horrible stomach pains in the lower left and right

User Profile
For over a month I have been having horrible stomach pains in the lower left and right side of my stomach. I ended up going to the E.R. to find out what was going on. I took a pregnancy test which was negative. So I asked the doctor what it could be and he said from my bronchitis and coughing. I told him it has been over a month and that I have been sick 3 days. He got an attitude with me and said he was not discussing it with me because this is the E.R.

Well for the last month I have had severe pain in my stomach and I have also had some bleeding that was brown when the pain first started. I am wondering what could be causing this pain. It gets more severe on left side than right though. Should I go see another doctor? Or what would you think it could be? Thank you for your time.

Abdominal Pain Answer A44018
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The recent symptoms and the early and brown discharge/spotting, and the abdominal discomfort/pain that you describe could be suggestive of probable implantation bleeding (if you are pregnant), infective cause, hormonal imbalances, ovarian cysts, PID, etc. Wait and watch for your periods and observe the current bleeding/discharge. If the symptoms remain persistent, or if your usual periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you develop any new symptoms, then consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the symptoms that you describe and confirm/rule out pregnancy. Treatment as appropriate (based on evaluation results) would be started to help you control the symptoms. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
