high white blood cell count during pregnancy?

hi, good evening

i just want to know about the high white blood cell count during pregnancy can cause any complications to the patient and the infant during the second pregnancy with no fever, no cold nor infection, comparatively, the patient has a normal white blood cell count during her first pregnancy.

Pregnancy results in a leukocytosis, primarily due to an increase in neutrophils with a slight increase in lymphocytes. Without any signs of infection, the elevated WBC is probably just the normal increase seen during gestation.

If, of course, there is a concern for infection, a cause should be actively sought.
