I’ve noticed in the last few months that my blood pressure is higher than it should be. I am somewhat over weight. I can tell that sometimes, mainly evening time, that it gets higher. When it does, I seem to have bad mood swings. Can blood pressure changing cause these mood swings?

Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

Hypertension, itself is associated with a stressful lifestyle, however, it is not a primary cause. What you described is likely to be a transient condition associated with stress. Home blood pressure monitoring can be advised with at least 3 readings per day as an alternative to ambulatory BP monitoring. If the readings are significantly high then management for hypertension can be ensued.

Wishing you best of health
