Any pregnancy in a lupus patient is a very high risk pregnancy. If a lupus patient conceives, she will have to register under a gynecologist trained to handle such high risk pregnancies. Fetal growth will have to be monitored more closely. There is a 1-2% risk of baby getting heart block. Neonatal lupus is more common.

If you want to go ahead with a pregnancy, then do so under the guidance of a trained gynecologist in support with your rheumatologist. Hope this helps. Take care!
