Having a new issue with insomnia PLEASE HELP!

Hey there! I was hoping that someone can help me... here's what the problem is : I like to start to fall asleep on my back due to physical pain aliments, but over the past 4 nights I've been trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden I start to cough, gag, and have been EXTREMELY dry to the point I'm suckling down 2 glasses of water A NIGHT! Now, when I lay on either side, it stops! It can't be my GERD & Acid Reflux since I'm on about 6 different prescription drugs that I take for it! I'm not a smoker either! I've tried proping my head up, NOTHING! Taking my GERD/acid reflux meds 2 hrs before bed time? NOTHING! I have HORRIBLE insomnia that can be worse due to also having anxiety/panic attacks, I really don't need YET ANOTHER THING WAKING ME UP! Did I mention it wakes me out of a dead sleep too? Sorry I'm all over the place, but I'm so darn frustrated! If anyone can suggest something, ANYTHING!!!! I'll take it! =)

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
Your symptoms are consistent with anxiety disorder. However, you would need complete neurological examination to rule out bulbar palsy.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
