The choice of inhaler should be done in consultation with your doctor. There are many factors affecting the exact choice. For improper inhaler technique revohalers are better than simple inhalers. They require a capsule which the revohaler punctures and the contents are more suitably transferred via inhalation. Rinsing afterwards with mouthwash will become necessary afterwards to prevent oral thrush. Additionally beta agonists should be avoided in the elderly with arrhythmias. Ipratropium inhalers can alternatively be advised along with fluticasone in consultation with your doctor.
