Happy and depressed cycles

User Profile
I am happy, and then depressed.

It seems I go through a cycle. I am going to China next week, and I was really happy about this. Then all of a sudden, I got depressed. I didn't really feel like going anymore. This happened, last december too, when I first found out I was going to China. It was my dream to go there, but it seems my body doesn't want me to be always happy about it. Or at least my mind.

When I am happy I ignore the negatives, I perform better in daily tasks and I am a happier person, of course.

When I am depressed I always feel tired.. angry easily.

I don't know what causes it. Help me D:

Hi, welcome to the ehealth forum and I am glad to help you.
You seem concerned by the mood swings which are causing trouble in your daily life
You seem to be suffering from mood disorder, the exact nature of which can be determined only with detailed history. It might be depression-major or minor depending on the symptom complex. Either of the two is going to be helped by the antidepressant medications. You seem to be having episodes of depression interspersed with normal mood as you feel happy during that time. You must consult your psychiatrist for definitive diagnosis and start of appropriate treatment as the diagnosis cannot be made online.
Hope this helps. Take care.
Note: This post is not to emphasise final diagnosis as the same cannot be made online and is aimed just to provide medical information and no treatment suggested above be taken without face to face consultation with health care professional.
