Getting Pregnant Answer A29415
Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing us

If the sexual intercourse was unprotected one then chances of pregnancy are possible. It is more during the ovulation period which is the fertile period.Ovulation period is 9 to 16 days in a regular menstrual cycle and first day of period is counted as day 1.
It does not make much difference even if you got up after the act as if the sperms have travelled inside they can fertilize the egg.
If it has not been more than 72 hours and you are not trying for a baby then consider using Emergency contraceptive pill earliest for protection from pregnancy.
Take care!
