I found out i was pregnant on Aug 6th went to the doctor for light bleeding but he said it was normal. On the 14th I went back because I had heavy bleeding and he said I had a miscarriage yet he did not give me any instructions on what to do. My mom had me on bed rest for 3 days until they told me that my hcg levels were back to normal. My husband and I were so sad and wanted to try again we had unprotected sex on the 24 and 25. What i want to know is if their could be any complications if i do end up pregnant? I have also had stronger vaginal smell since the miscarriage i dont know if it is an infection or something else. The smell is like sweat or strong vaginal smell even after i shower. I also wanted to know if childhood abuse could have somehow damaged anything? I went through it from the age of 6-14 but only penetration from 11-14. I never had sex since then until now with my husband and I had never been checked until now that I am 22 and had the miscarriage. Please help

Hi! Many thanks for your question on eHealth forum!

If you have strong vaginal smell then you probably have bacterial vaginosis. This will not have any affect on pregnancy. This can be diagnosed by presence of clue cells in vaginal discharge. Vaginal metronidazole creams can be applied.

Generally first trimester abortions or abortions occurring in first three months are due to fetal abnormality, genetic causes, Rh blood group incompatibility and low progesterone hormone. Infection of the uterus, endometriosis, fibroids, etc are some other causes for early abortion. You must get this evaluated.

First locate a good obstetric center in your area and a trained gynecologist. Get proper treatment as advised since you expect pregnancy. Hope this helps. Take care!
