My son is 8 years old and was diagnosed with Gitleman’s this summer (at 7). He seems to suffer from the common symptoms such as fatigue, pins and needles, muscle cramps, intolerance to heat, salt craving etc. One concern I do have is the bedwetting. He can go from no bedwetting for months and then weeks of nightly incidences. He gets very upset when it happens especially when his younger brother doesn’t do it. I have explained it is due to his condition but that does little for his confidence. Does anyone have an idea on how to tackle this issue? I have looked at pyjama pants but they look like giant nappies which would cause more confidence issues. Has anyone else had this and what did you do to either prevent it or make it less embarrassing? Also, is it common for someone with GS to feel sick after a small amount of exercise? (e.g 25mins) This is something my son has been complaining about for the last two weeks after playing in the school yard at lunch time. Regards
