My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. This upcoming week is my fertile week but the following Tuesday I am to have a colonoscopy to check my ulcerative colitis. We really want to try and get pregnant this week but aren't sure if we should try because I have the colonoscopy. Would it be safe to try this week?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

If you have ulcerative colitis and a colonoscopy is planned, then even though it will fall within your fertile period, you should go ahead with it. First you should know your status of ulcerative colitis and then go ahead with planning pregnancy.

Ideally you should discuss this with your gynecologist. Hope this helps. Take care!
