I want to learn all I can about my diastisis recti problem. I developed an umbilical hernia at the same time as I did the diastisis recti.
I have, as of now, found no good answers as to what to do about this. I had the mesh repair for naval part already and that went well.
Therefore I look for answers to this embarrassing "football" looking thing on my belly.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!
I read your question and I understand your concern.
Diastisis recti has no morbidity or mortality. Excercises like core contraction, seated squeeze, head lift, upright push-up etc help in strengthening abdominal muscles.According to one study quadruped position yielded the most effective results.
Cosmetic surgery is the last resort.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
