My husband has recently moved abroad for work. Would a considerate gap of 6-10 months in any kind of sexual activity between a husband and a wife delay the process of conceiving the first child? Kindly help and provide consequences of the same.

It should not. The delay is a lack of trying time for you both, if you are considering starting a family. Pregnancy isnt how often you have sex- its conception is during ovulation and if the timing is right. This delay should not inhibit things later on, but for the right now, its losing practice and taking away valuable time. But its better he works abroad before the children are born, and not after.. Take care!

Kdave, If you have not done so yet, this might be a really good time to learn to track your fertility. Look at something like fertilityfriend (dot com). Their tutorials are really good.

Knowing when you ovulate is really important when you are trying to make a baby. Also use this chance to 'detox' your lifestyle (learn to relax, get fit, get your weight right, eat healthy, get off medicines and drugs that are not needed, etc..) to give you the best chance of conceiving when you want.

Take care!
