Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Folvite is folic acid tablets, and it is used as a nutritional supplement, and NOT as medication to PREVENT pregnancy. If you want to prevent pregnancy discuss with your gynecologist (not regular GP/NP) about getting started on regular birth control. Folvite is often given to women who want to plan their pregnancy to ensure god levels of folic acid in them which help in baby’s brain and nervous system development. It is safe to use on long run to prevent folic acid deficiency but NOT pregnancy.
Take care.
