Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Since most of the hormonal contraceptive pills start giving you effective protection after about 2-3 weeks of regular use, if you become sexually active without protection during this time, then chances of pregnancy are possible, hence you are recommended to use back-up protection if having intercourse during the first 2-3 weeks after getting started with the birth control pill use. Continue to take the pills at scheduled time daily. Avoid missing active pill intake. Follow missed-pill-protocol if you miss taking active pill. For further clarification and assistance, read the instruction leaflet carefully, or discuss with your treating doctor/gynecologist.
Take care.
