fever and is having lower abdominal cramps

User Profile
Hi, my girlfriend and I have NOT have sex, but we have done other things. We have had a pregnancy scare a few months ago, so she took a Morning After pill. She got her period last month, and then bled again two weeks after. On July 25th, she caught a fever and is having lower abdominal cramps. Is she pregnant? What is happening?

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

Pregnancy occurs only after vaginal intercourse or when there is ejaculation of sperms inside the vagina but this happens close to ovulation. If you have not had any vaginal intercourse then chances of pregnancy are less. If your girlfriend is concerned about the status of her pregnancy then she can do a urine for pregnancy test or get her serum HCG levels checked.

Cause of pelvic pain could be due to kidney stones, pelvic infections, urine infections, twisted ovarian cyst or rupture of ovarian cyst, appendicitis or any other referred pain due to other organ infections. Your girlfriend should get these causes ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
