I have taken the plan B emergency pills about three or four times since the year has started. Now my boyfriend and I have been trying to have a baby for the past two months now and nothing. this month I had thought we were successful but my period was just 5 days late. I am 21 years old and he is 22. what are the possibles problems that could be causing this. I am very hardworking and have been working more for the past two months since I have been promoted. please, I have had sleepless nights since this....what are the possible problems....the only two plan B pills I have ever taken were pregnon and postinor 2. The pair was taken april 25, 2013.

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

Since you took the emergency contraceptive pills in April end, your next period could have got delayed. Similarly your period for June end-July too could have got delayed. Otherwise, the delay can also be due to pregnancy. Please take a pregnancy test and see and if it is negative and you do not get periods in another 3-4 days, please repeat the test. Hope this helps. Take care!
