feeling extremely depressed about my weight. I am not big

User Profile
For around a year now i have been feeling extremely depressed about my weight. I am not big, about a size ten but yet i feel uncomfortable with this. This time last year i slimmed down to a size eight but with all the stress of my ALevels i have found it difficult to continue with the healthy eating and exercise routine. I find myself crying around 3 nights a week due to this and i no longer want to go outside because i feel uncomfortable and angry at myself that i have let this happen. What should i do?

Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

To lose wight, you need to exercise more and eat food which are rich in proteins and avoid fatty and calorie rich foods.

Eat more of beans, green tea, salads, fruits like pears, papayas, soups like chichken soup, lean meats, tofu, nuts, high fiber cereal, nuts like walnuts, oatmeal, brown rice and multigrain hot cereals. Also change diet completely to high fibre, high protein diet, drink plenty of water before and after meal which helps in proper digestion and prevent you from overeating and exercising (walking, cycling or swimming) to burn your extra calories and keep your heart healthy.

If you do not lose weight even after these measures then get hypothyroidism ruled out by getting your thyroid hormone levels done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
