The inner corner of my right eyelid is swollen and itchy. What could this possibly be? I've never experienced anything like this before.

Hi! Many thanks for your question on eHealth forum!

The inner corner of right eyelid could swell and itch due to a stye or chalazion (infection of the hair follicle), allergy, blepharitis or infection, or infection of the tear gland.

The treatment will depend on the diagnosis. Since there is an itch, an antiallergic eye drop can be tried which does not have steroids. If it’s a stye, then warm compress will help and if it is allergy, cool compress will help.

Please consult an eye specialist. Hope this helps. Take care!
