Eyelashes and petroleum jelly

Good Day! I have a friend who recommended me to apply petroleum jelly on my eyelashes as a life hack in lengthening my lashes. however, i only tried it twice and then stop since i doubt if it has a negative effects on my eyes. i would like to ask your suggestions if it is okay to apply petroleum jelly? isn't it dangerous? thank you! I read your question and i understand your concern. Petroleum jelly is safe and has no negative effects. However its use for eye lashes growth is a hypothesis which needs to be tested.
