extreme Ear pain underwater, flying concerns

Ok so my ear hurts extremely bad when I go underwater. It starts at around 2 ft under and gets progressively worse I tried popping the ear and could not at all ( right ear) I feel the same pain when I push on my ear with the palm of my hand. I tried seeing a doctor and an ent but even they were a little confused. I'm scared because I'm about to go on a plane and if the pain is going to be as bad as it is underwater I'm afraid it might just pop or something. By the way the pain started at least a year ago from what I can remember but seems to have gotten worse.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. It seems like eustachian tube defect or wax deposit in ear. Needs to be examined and looked at.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
