I am currently taking 150mg daily of Efexor XL (Venlafaxine) If you were my doctor would you allow me to take champix wit this?

Hello.

Champix (Varenicline) is a new drug. And unfortunately there isn't much research on Varenicline and Venlafaxine combination safety. But there have been random reports of worsening of depression on starting Varenicline.

If your depression was under control with Effexor XL 150mg, I would think of adding Champix with caution, and addition of another antidepressant if needed.
