Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Your partnner must be fond of the taste of tamarind and that is why eating it. It is not a medication in which the doses can be recommended for a day but anything in excess can be harmful. It can cause increased acid production and lead to gastritis and other digestive issues. It should not be taken along with aspirin and ibuprofen as interactions might occur.
It is a rich source of Vitamin C and helps in sore throat and cold.

Take care!
