Early Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms Answer A39399
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The symptoms of pregnancy can vary from women to women as each woman is different and each pregnancy is different. The symptoms appear as response of your body to the changing hormonal levels during pregnancy. The early pregnancy symptoms include: fatigue, constipation/bowel habit changes, increased sleep, hunger and tiredness, mood changes, headaches, back pain, pain down the thigh and leg, lower abdominal cramps, increased frequency of urination, breast soreness, nipple sensitivity, appearance of blue veins on breasts, darker areolas, appearance of Montgomery tubercles, pelvic discomfort and heaviness, food cravings, increased appetite, sensitiveness to smell or certain foods, dizziness, weight gain, increasing abdominal girth, bloating, increase in vaginal discharge without any foul smell or any other associated symptoms like itching, burning rashes etc. If you suspect pregnancy, look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately. Duphaston is usually prescribed during early pregnancy and advised to continue during first trimester to avoid miscarriage. If there is risk detected, you should continue taking the medication prescribed. Continue to take it until you complete 16 weeks gestation. Get anomaly scan done after 16 weeks (usually done between 16-20 weeks gestation), to rule out anomalies or defects. If you are worried, you can consider taking second opinion from another gynecologist.
Take care.
